Wedding at Pinewood Country Club in Slidell, Louisiana | Campbell & Collin

The Wedding Day Story at Pinewood Country Club

The day started off with both the bride and groom arriving early to the Pinewood Country Club in Slidell, Louisiana. The bride and her bridesmaids played music and got their hair and makeup done while the guys relaxed and got into their suits. With rain moving in, they had to make the last minute decision to move the festivities inside which did not diminish the beauty one bit. With beautiful florals and candles being set up in the ceremony space, I knew that the wedding would be so special. Campbell started off by doing a first look with her dad which started with tears but ended in laughs and high fives. After doing a first look with dad, she decided to surprise her bridesmaids with a first look. Their reaction was priceless as they turned around and screamed out how beautiful Campbell was as a bride! Finally, it was time for the first look with Collin. He was nervous and excited to see Campbell. I often find that the wedding day doesn’t really set in for the couple until the first look, then suddenly everything becomes “real.” Collin turned around and saw Campbell, and they both immediately started crying. It was just the sweetest moment! All of their friends and family were watching out the window at the venue, and let’s just say that many tears were shed. After couples portraits, bridal party, and family portraits, it was finally time to hideaway before the ceremony. The ceremony space quickly filled up and the festivities started. The groomsmen walked down the aisle together and the bridesmaids walked down solo. Campbell wanted to give her bridesmaids their time to shine, and it was a fabulous touch! As Campbell and her dad moved down the aisle, Collin began sobbing. I almost started crying myself, but I had to keep it together! The ceremony was short and sweet and featured some intimate elements like the reading of scripture, and the bride and groom taking communion together. After Mr. and Mrs. O’Neil were finally announced, it was now finally time to party! Campbell and Collin had been secretly taking dance lessons throughout their engagement, so they wowed their friends and family with a choreographed ballroom dance! Everyone was shocked and absolutely loved it! Campbell and her dad were up next with a sweet father-daughter dance, and then Collin and his mom finished out the traditional dances. The bride and groom then moved to the cake table and had all of the single ladies do the cake pull! This is such a fun tradition that I don’t see too much at the weddings I shoot! After the cake was served and people finished up their dinner, the dance floor came to life. The guests stayed on the dance floor all night until the very last song! Campbell’s bridesmaids even surprised her with a choreographed dance to one of her favorite songs from Mamma Mia! It was so much fun! Campbell and Collin left the wedding to a gorgeous sparkler exit and drove away in their getaway car! This wedding was an absolute blast to shoot, and I wish all the best for the O’Neils!

The Venue- Pinewood Country Club

The Pinewood Country Club in Slidell, Louisiana was an excellent venue to work with for this wedding. It sits nestled on a golf course which can be a fun groomsmen activity before the activity if the groom enjoys playing golf. The venue featured a quaint pergola and pool area outside that would have been beautiful for a wedding ceremony. Since the wedding had to be moved indoors, all of the chairs and ceremony decor was moved indoor. The indoor room was still beautifully adequate for an indoor ceremony. With a rustic brick fireplace on the back wall, the coordinators set up the florals and lit candles so that Campbell and Collin had a unique and sweet background for their ceremony. After the ceremony ended, the guests moved into the food buffet area while the venue flipped the ceremony space into a dance floor. It was a quick transition and totally transformed the space! The DJ brought some fun party lights which also added to the dance floor transformation. It didn’t even feel like we were in the same building! Luckily, the weather cleared up for a sparkler exit which this venue allows! Many venues are gearing away from allowing sparkler exits so this was a treat!

Vendors for this Slidell Wedding Day

I had an amazing time working with the various vendors for this wedding day. While I had never worked with any of these vendors prior to the O’Neil wedding, I would love to work with them again! The wedding went off smoothly and the timeline was able to be upheld despite the unpredictable weather! It really was the perfect day!
